Pre-application
- Consider if you want to advance your academic studies after receiving your Associate’s degree
- Conduct research based on the recommendations from family and friends You may visit the KUV partnership page for more information
- Make a list of at least 3 - 5 schools you are interested in the most
- Meet with your assigned advisor to discuss your academic goals and collaborate on an educational plan that best prepares you to transfer
During application
- Apply to your transfer institution(s)
- Order official academic transcripts and send them to your chosen universities. Submit supplemental documents on time, if any
- Wait for admission decisions
Post-application
- Order an I-20/ Offer letter
- Complete the visa application
- Prepare for the visa interview, if any
Q&A
1. Who is eligible for this service?
All admitted KUV students who complete the A.A Degree Program at KUV.
2. When is an appropriate time to begin my application?
The student should begin to work on the application at least three months before the intended transfer time and earn at least 30 college-level credits. (Special circumstances will be considered separately*)
3. When should I open a bank or savings account for financial proof, and how much should the bank letter/statement show?
Sponsors should create a bank or savings account six months before the intended transfer time. You can start with any amount of money. When you need to submit the bank letter, you will add it to a fund covering the estimated cost of attending your intended school.
4. Can I extend my application deadline at transfer institutions?
No, it would be best to always keep the application deadline in mind to avoid missing it.
5. Can I transfer to another U.S. college without an Associate’s degree?
Yes, you can. However, we encourage you to complete the A.A. or A.S. degree to maximize your chances of admission to a university of your choice.
6. I do not have any English proficiency certificates such as TOEFL, IELTS. Do I need to take these tests to fulfil the English proficiency requirement?
It depends! Most of the time, scores can be waived for English proficiency if students have earned credits from ENC1101 and/or ENC2102, with at least a "C".
7. Can I study courses that are not open in Vietnam to maximize transferable courses before studying abroad?
Yes, you can register for courses offered online by Keiser University as long as you satisfy the prerequisite requirements and can handle classes with the time difference. However, keep in mind that you need to pay the tuition fees according to the policy of Keiser University.
8. Can the transfer application fee be waived?
No, students will need to finance all of the costs of transferring. However, some transfer institutions may waive the application fee for KUV students, which ranges typically from $30 to $150 per application.
9. Can I apply for scholarships?
Yes, you can.
For the remaining years, you can explore all the opportunities available for international transfer students at transfer institutions.
10. Where should I find the information about my major?
School websites, U.S. News and World Report, and Niche, are credible sources of information you can use.
11. Can I self-submit my official transcript?
No, all official transcripts should be sent directly from Keiser University. You can order official transcripts to be sent to the transfer institution which may cost you a varied amount (fees are subject to change).
12. If I have some specific questions, who should I contact?
